Restore Retreat is offered both in person and online. Restore is run in Miami office at Sanctuary House and is also offered as a destination retreat in South Carolina, for an immersive therapeutic getaway in nature. All three formats of the Restore™ Retreat cover the same material in a different setting.
If you’ve gone through a tough time and want to start working through it, Restore™ is the ideal starting point. Our dedicated trauma experts will guide you through your healing journey in a calm and secure environment at our KUM Sanctuary house. The retreat offers a holistic approach, combining resilience training, small-group, 1-on-1 therapy, and experiential experiences with our trauma-informed therapists.
The Restore Retreat in South Carolina offers all of the therapeutic benefits of our Restore program, with the added bonus of being set in a beautiful SC location. The retreat takes place in a lovely mountain home with a lakeside view and access. In addition to the therapeutic experiences, it includes meals, dinner outings, boat rides, and an optional zipline experience.
Our Restore Retreat online offers the same benefits as our regular retreat from the comfort of your home. This remote format is perfect for those unable to travel, offering flexibility and accessibility without compromising the quality of care. Through secure video sessions, real-time messaging, and interactive activities, participants can process their trauma and develop coping strategies under the constant supervision of our dedicated therapists.
Wellspring’s therapy group intensives provide a safe atmosphere for deep therapy work. Intensives combine teaching on trauma and the Circle of Truth, experiential elements, individual sessions, and small group work.
Participants focus together for several hours a day over the course of several days on a specific trauma or several of traumas. This group format provides a supportive environment for deep exploration and healing.
Each group includes 3-5 participants and 1-2 therapists, with a maximum of 15 participants. Groups are often formed based on similar experiences. However, when this isn’t possible, the shared experience of trauma fosters depth and compassion among group members.
Therapy groups offer a focused environment that minimizes distractions, allowing for significant progress in a short time. They provide a powerful sense of understanding and support, as members often face similar challenges and can validate each other’s experiences.
The intensive nature of these groups promotes breakthroughs due to the concentrated focus and energy, fostering quicker and deeper healing. Additionally, groups offer a safe space to learn and practice coping skills, communication techniques, and therapeutic tools.
We recommend flying into Asheville, SC or Greensville-Spartanburg, SC. Transportation is provided at a set time/day before Lakeside Restore Retreat starts from Asheville airport or a nearby Hendersonville. Return transportation to Asheville airport directly following the retreat is also available for a fee.
All clients receive a follow-up session one week after completing Restore. This session reviews lessons learned, progress made, and identifies next steps. For some, Restore brings closure to their ongoing work, while for others, it may initiate or continue their healing journey. We recommend returning to your current therapist, or you may choose your Restore therapist or another therapist at Wellspring to continue your healing journey.
Individual therapy involves one therapist and one client, typically meeting for one hour a week until symptoms are resolved. In contrast, individual intensives involve up to two therapists working with one client for several hours over the course of a week. While both formats can facilitate significant healing, the group format can sometimes provide deeper healing through peer support.
Wellspring uses a combination of EMDR, and DBT as well as reflective listening. In addition, experiential therapies and facilitated group feedback are utilized.
All participants can benefit from individual therapy leading up to their group therapy intensive. This preparation can enhance self-regulation during high-emotion moments, help recognize current safety while addressing past trauma, and improve healthy boundaries and communication skills. Making sure you are getting sleep, exercising, and eating a healthy diet will also help you in your intensive work.
If you cannot engage in this individual therapy, you can contact our program for suggestions on increasing self-regulation, boundaries, and healthy communication skills. While this preparation is not mandatory, it can deepen your awareness and feelings of safety, maximizing the benefits of your group therapy intensive. All participates will get an email the week before the retreat with suggestions for emotional preparation.
